Makeup trends in 2024

 Makeup trends have been around for as long as long as makeup has been around for. Today I will be making some predictions as for what is there to come this year.

The past few years makeup trends have been heavily influenced by tik tok, and not so much youtube anymore. You may have heard the term 2016 makeup floating around on tik tok which was heavy on eyeshadow, eyeliner, and dark lipsticks. The famous cut crease was formed as well. The main platform that catered to makeup trends was youtube

The past few years since tik tok had been introduced as a bigger platform, these influencers had gained popularity on this app including influencers such as Alix Earle and Darcy McQueeney. They put more emphasis on the “clean girl look” which focuses on a dewier (not cakey) base followed by minimal eye makeup.

However my prediction for this year, with more emphasis on casual outfits, I do think that a lot of these makeup looks will also continue with the dewey base, however I do think that the eye makeup may begin to get a little heavier. 

Two years ago after the release of the second season of euphoria, there was an emphasis on heavier eye makeup, and a couple months ago when saltburn had come out there was many people doing the same eye makeup they did in saltburn.I do think that there might be less emphasis on lip color too
